Dog Training Tips
Dog training should be enjoyable for both you and your dog. The fastest and easiest way to change your dog's behavior is
through positive reinforcement. Even children can use these humane methods for training dogs.
Some behavior problems can be solved by giving your dog more exercise and
playtime.
It is important to socialize your dog with other dogs, people and children.
Praise and reward your dog for displaying the appropriate behavior. Rewards can be food, toys, attention, playtime or
even going for a walk. Your dog will repeat a behavior that gets rewarded.
Training is a form of communication. You are essentially teaching your dog English as a second language. Training
helps strengthen the bond you have with your dog.
Cat Training Tips
Cats can be trained, but more patience is needed when training cats than when training
dogs.
Make sure there is enough cat litter boxes for the number of cats in the household. Litter
boxes should be placed away from where your cats eat and sleep.
Scratching posts do not have to be expensive. A lot of cats prefer the card board box type
and the sisal rope posts.
